The Importance of Quality
We work hard, according to the WorkSource Childcare Solutions, who awarded Gethsemane Lutheran Children’s Ministry a Four Star Rating, the highest rating possible, which requires staff members to adhere to higher standards in curriculum, interaction, and multi-cultural activities.
Our high academic standards are maintained by the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association. The ELEA Accreditation is a national accreditation which holds our center to higher standards of care and curriculum. Lower class ratios are maintained and staff members receive more than 20 hours of training per year compared to 15 hours required by minimum standards.
Both young and old benefit from the Foster Grandparent Program, which provides selected older adults, aged 60 and over, with opportunities to earn incomes in meaningful, fulfilling ways by providing services to children. The intergenerational concept refers to situations and programs that join seniors and juniors together so that they have opportunities to grow, experience, and learn from one another. Older adults get to use their talents in creative ways to help children from many social backgrounds.

We wholeheartedly participate in Child Care Management Services and Child Protective Services programs which provide care to children from families of all income levels and children who are currently placed in foster care situations. This is a very important part of our ministry because we believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn in a structured, loving, nurturing, and safe environment.
