Gethsemane Lutheran Children’s Ministry (GLCM) is growing and in order to meet current demand, we are seeking applicants for Early Preschool teaching positions as well as Administrative Assistant. We are currently hiring full and part-time positions for the following:
- Administrative Assistant
- Lead Teacher for Preschool 4-5 years
- Assistant Teacher for Toddlers 12-24 months
- Assistant Teacher for Preschool 3-4 years
- Assistant Teacher for Pre-Kindergarten 4-5 years
- Floater for all ages

As a teacher and child care provider, your responsibilities include:
- Develop creative, educational, and safe lessons tailored to each child’s individual strengths and interests
- Work with each child in a group setting
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through constructive guidance
- Track children’s progress and report to parents using the Brightwheel app
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Qualifications of a teacher and child care provider:
- Excellent understanding of the basic principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with child safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to engage children’s curiosity and attention in a creative way
- Cleared fingerprint background check
- License or certification in child CPR, First Aid and CPR AED or willing to obtain upon hire.
- High School Diploma or GED, and at least 18 years of age
- Reliably commute to work [Austin, TX 78752]
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary: Competitive pay [starting at $15.00 – $17.00 per hour]
